DIY: distressed jeans

Hi Guys!
I know you must have seen this review over and over again but distressed jeans are still trendy so if you haven't this post is going to help you.
Personally, I've seen a few different ways to get the look; the first being the scissors method. For those that don't know what I'm referring to, it's the method where you have the places you want to cut with a tailors chalk. After doing that, you go ahead and cut the places you mark.
PS: you always have to wear your jeans and marketing the parts you want to cut so you know the exact places you want to cut and to avoid mistakes.
Then you use a pair of tweezers to pull on the white and blue threads until you get your desired look. Personally I don't like this method.

I went ahead and did some research and I found the best method for me.

WHAT YOU NEED

  1. A pair of old jeans
  2. Sandpaper
  3. X-actor knife
  4. Seam reaper/ a pair of tweezers
  5. Tailors chalk

You have to wear the jeans and marketing the places you want to sand with your chalk.
Then lay the jeans down on a flat surface and start to sand the marked areas. When  you are done
sanding, use the xacto knife to cut across the surfaces of the sanded area.
You'll most likely need a cardboard to put in between the jeans to avoid cutting across all the
way to the back...It's a necessary precaution.
Now you will use the seam reaper to pull on the white and blue threads to give it a finished and totally fabulous Look!

The scissors method is also good, you can try it if you can't get your hands on sandpaper and you'll totally love your result.

Forever Smitten would feature pictures of my personal style and also pictures of the clothes I made, I only recently started taking sewing classes per time so          don't expect to see professional looking outfits immediately but I promise you you'll absolutely love what you See!

What not to Ditch in 2014

Statements and Slogans
Slogans and statements, numbers, attitude-filled comments, clever word-plays on cropped and regular sized t shirts are pretty much still a huge trend in 2014.

Oversized boyish clothes, slouchy pants, masculine tailored blazers and oversized shirts are also really fashionable and a must have this year.

Oversized Boyish Pants
Boyfriend pants/oveoversized pants really really love them! Oversized denim pants are really fashinable. I love them more though if they are distressed. Lawd how I love those pants. I got some pictures of some really cute ones off Google.

Dungarees!
Did I just hear to die for! You got that right. I dunno I just love them overalls.  I'd rather have them a little free but the tight ones are also really cool and fashionable.

Graphic sweatshirts.
I wish I had more of them. But if you live in Ib like I do, trust me things are extremely hard to find; so except my aunt travells/my brothers I can hardly get whatever I want.. and that's besides the point

Because I'm a die hard rih fan♥

The First Post

Hi darling!!!!
Focus on the smiley face :D because I'm smiling real hard right now. This is officially my first post and it's amazing. BTW, this post gas nothing to do with fashion and I'll tell you the reason. Because I don't have a camera, a Canon eos 600D to be precise I'm really not into taking pics of OOTDs and posting DIYs but that would all change by June, so until then you gotta bear with me posting stolen pictures Lol.
I must say I got inspired by a lot of fashion blogs owned by Nigerian girls and it's really amazing the things that they do. You'll oonly getting be posts from me for some time because Doyin (baash- don't stress it, you won't get where the nickname came from) is locked up in some dungeon known as Babcock University (no offence) and apparently reception there is really terrible.
Soooo on this note, I gotta say Bye people.

XOXO
